Overrunning clutches and backstops for use in numerous industrial applications.
Our range is the broadest in both Sprag and ramp and roller type overrunning clutches and backstops available today.
Offering solutions for general purpose to specially designed heavy duty requirements.
Ball bearing supported designs are self contained clutches that include ball bearings to handle axial and radial loading, including seals to hold integral lubrication. Available for small to large torque requirements – from low to high speeds.
Sleeve bearing supported designs rely on a bronze bushing to handle radial loading of the application. They are generally applied in applications where the speeds are higher and the torques not as large.
Formsprag Clutch offer the LLH, HSB and RSBW designs as complete holdback assemblies specially designed for the unique requirements of conveyor headshafts, bucket elevators, pumps, or any other machinery where reverse rotation must be positively prevented.
Models AL, GFR and RIZ have a modular design that offers a wide range of mounting options. Mounting flexibility is gained via a variety of cover and torque arm designs that can be assembled to the base clutch.
Five different combinations of an overrunning clutch and coupling are used where the clutch needs to be applied in a shaft-to-shaft in-line application. The base overrunning clutch cannot accomodate misalignment – a coupling is always required for these types of mounting configurations.
Special overrunning clutches with extended shafts are available for use where the application calls for in-line mounting. These are self contained cutches that include ball bearings to handle axial and radial loading, including seals to hold integral lubrication. Available for small to large torque requirements – from low to high speeds. The base overrunning clutch cannot accomdate misalignment – a coupling is always required to be mounted on the extended shaft.
Built-in clutches that must be integrated in a housing the provides bearing support are available in a number of styles. These clutches generally have application in the low to medium torque and speed range.
The innovative bearing envelope design utilise an integral bearing and lubrication for a compact package that corresponds to metric bearing series 62, 60 and 59.
